Teaching Greenhouse Bays

The Conservatory

The Conservatory serves as a collection of botanically interesting rainforest, tropical and desert plants and is open to the general public during business hours. Plant material may be used or borrowed for class use with permission from PGF staff.

Please contact us:

  • To arrange to borrow/use live plant material

    If you have special plant requests that we do not have in the collection, we will do our best to acquire requested plants

  • To arrange for guided Conservatory/greenhouse tours
  • To arrange for use of the room for:
    • art classes
    • yoga classes
    • elementary school experiments
    • receptions
    • We are open to most anything, just call or e-mail to ask!

Greenhouse Bay 112A

Priority of this bay is given to professors/teaching assistants growing plants for lab and teaching use, and class experiments. Space for research purposes may be assigned to this room as needed if research space is unavailable.

112A is equipped with:

  • Seven (7) 6’ X 35’ rolling benches, 210 ft2 each
  • Two (2) 3’ X 35’ floor plots, 105 ft2 each
  • One (1) 6’ X 35’ floor plot, 210 ft2
  • 16H day / 8H night photoperiod
  • Rental rate = $0.20/sq. ft. per month
